These creatures are often used in poetry and art and are sometimes carried by travelers to make sure they return home safely from their journeys. The word ‘frog’ in Japanese means ‘return’, which is why the frog is considered a lucky animal.

About the artist: Rochester-based tattoo artist, Laura Marie, won Inked Master Season 12 Battle of the Sexes. Laura is the co-owner of Atomic ROC. While the original focus of Laura's career was illustration and game design, she became intrigued by the permanency of tattooing as an art form and its potential to memorialize significant emotions and life events.
